Last year, we featured a series on the blog about the run up to my wedding (you can find those posts here). How I met my now husband, the proposal and all of the wedding planning up to the big day and honeymoon. I loved writing about my Journey to the Aisle so when one of our gorgeous Lisa Rose Brides expressed an interest in doing the same, we snapped her hand off!
Introducing Alexandra and her husband to be, Yousef.
In this, the first of the series, Alexandra tells us how she met Yousef and the story of the proposal.
Me and Yousef met when a mutual friend introduced us in Dubai almost 4 years ago… neither of us were into one another at this point. We then kept bumping into each other over a period of a few months as we lived in the same area.
Yousef then made the first move and added me as a friend on Facebook, messaged me and after talking online for a while we had our first date on the 43rd floor of the Sheraton four points rooftop bar in Dubai. From this night we became inseparable.
On our 2 year anniversary Yousef took me away to a resort called Al Wadi Desert, Ras Al Khaima – Ritz Carlton partner. We had our own private villa and private pool it was beautiful and we spent the day lounging and drinking pink champagne.
At 7.30pm a buggy picked us up and took us on our way for dinner, to my surprise the buggy drove past the main part of the resorts restaurants and up hill to a private section of desert with one table and two chairs with our very own waiter. Candles were lit and rose petals all around us, it was gorgeous!
Finally after we had enjoyed a lovely meal, our waiter opened a bottle of champagne and poured us a glass, with that Yousef removed a box from his pocket and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was such a beautiful evening and I wish we could do it over again!
Wow, Alexandra… he sounds like the perfect Prince, how utterly romantic! I for one am already hooked and cannot wait to hear all about the rest of your journey to the aisle. I have a feeling this may be a very glamorous affair!
Ladies, be sure to check back for post number two. If you have a passion for shoes, you will definitely not want to miss it 😉
