Emma & Joseph Harrison (nee Wall)
Married Wednesday 30th August 2017
Why did you choose your gown? Was it everything you dreamed of and more or was it an unexpected choice? What accessories did you choose? Who was your bridal consultant?
When I originally started looking for dresses I’d got an image in my head – a floaty, slim, plain dress that would suit an abroad wedding and hopefully me! As I started looking and trying dresses on, I suddenly realised I wanted something with more… wow. I wasn’t keen on a huge princess dress (even though I loved how they looked on me) just because of having the wedding in Ibiza I’d be hot and also getting it there would be difficult!! I tried on loads of dresses, loved most of them and then happened to try on the Sophia Tolli ‘Kyla’ gown. It was a stunning dress with lots of embellishments and a beautiful neck which dropped and had lace detailing across. Sandra (my bridal consultant on the original day but then Kyla was my consultant throughout)… knew from my face as soon as I put it on it was ‘the one’. It was comfortable, definitely had wow factor and it just felt ‘right’ which was weird because I tried it on in a champagne colour rather than ivory and still loved it! (Then ordered it in Ivory)
It was absolutely beautiful and my mum and sisters who were with me thought so too! I was made to feel so special at Lisa Rose like I was the most important bride there, which was absolutely lovely. And Kyla gave me continued support and guidance throughout my whole planning she was absolutely brilliant!! I chose to have a short, simple plain veil also purchased through Lisa Rose to just set the dress off but not take any attention away from its detail.
Where did you buy your bridesmaids dresses from and what colour were they?
What did your groom wear and who supplied his and his groomsmen’s outfits?
Joe wore an ASOS suit – he wanted something very slim fitting and different (as well as fashionable and modern!) for our Ibiza wedding. He had it in a bold blue colour to really stand out! The groomsmen’s suits were from Next. But again, they were a different colour to my groom as we wanted it to be informal and fun, as we only had 30 guests in Ibiza we didn’t want half the men to be all dressed exactly the same! So we went for stone trousers with white shirts and both father of the bride and groom wore waistcoats too.
Who supplied your flowers?
My flowers were supplied by Floral Dreams Ibiza. I opted for beautiful ivory and blush roses with some ‘amnesia roses’ incorporated to really give it the dusky blush feel I wanted. The gypsophila looked stunning in the sunshine and matched mine and my bridesmaids hair pieces.
Who was your photographer and how did you choose him/her?
Our photographer was Matt Morgan. He was absolutely incredible. We chose him because we wanted someone fun and informal to shoot the day but who could also capture some beautiful scenic shots with me and Joe. He was exactly that. He even did a selfie with us!!
Where did you get married?
We got married at Elixir Beach Club which is in Cala Codolar in Ibiza. Words cannot even describe how beautiful this place is. When we were looking at potential venues as soon as I walked in here I knew it was the one. It was private and secluded, with stunning views of Es Vedra and the Cala Codolar coast, we got some amazing sunset shots and the staff and the food were out of this world!
Who were your shoes by?
Shoes were Dune and beautifully embellished in a blush colour, they were amazingly comfortable too! I had to change into flats for the clifftop photos but I love these shoes!
Who did your hair and make up?
My hair & make up was done by the fabulous Smack Ibiza. The girls were relaxed and so so talented they really made the morning getting ready, a super fun time! Before I flew out to Ibiza for the wedding I had my lashes done by Kyla who is also a fabulous MUA as well as a bridal consultant!! She did me LVLs to give me that really defined but natural look which I carried through with my make up on the day, opting for a subtle smokey eye and nude lip. My hair was messy beachy waves with some gypsophila hair pieces in and the bridesmaids had an up do with matching hair grips. My youngest sister Jessica did her own and my other sisters make up for the bridesmaids, as she is also a make up enthusiast!
Who supplied your wedding cake?
My cake was supplied by the venue Elixir, the lovely lady who owns Elixir – Vicky, is a chef and professional cake maker so the cake was gorgeous and also tasted amazing!!!!
Is there anything about your day which was particularly special or momentous that you would like to share?
I think the stand out moment from our wedding day was getting the chance to sneak off by ourselves and get some one on one time with our photographer and the breathtaking views of our Ibiza venue. We climbed cliffs and braved heights to capture some of the stunning shots which I will treasure forever and are moments I will never forget.
Why did you choose Lisa Rose for your wedding gown?
I chose Lisa Rose for my wedding dress because I had heard amazing things about them and had two close friends who had recently purchased their wedding dresses there and could not recommend them enough. I have to agree! From the beautiful setting of the old chapel, to the way the Lisa Rose family are welcoming and make you feel special and part of their family, to the absolutely gorgeous dresses they have, there is every reason to choose them when purchasing your wedding dress. They are professional and elegant in everything they do and always put their brides at the centre of what they do. Kyla in particular was amazing, and the service I received was everything I could have hoped for while planning my wedding. It was simply perfect. Thank you so much!
Any top tips for future Brides shopping for their wedding gown?
Try on lots of dresses! It’s such a fun and exciting time so make the very most of it! Make sure you feel like a princess and even though it sounds cliché you really do know when you put ‘the dress’ on.
It’s such a magical part of your wedding journey and a time you will never forget so savour the feelings and the emotions and share it with people close to you. Don’t settle for anything less than perfect because it’s so worth it when you put that dress on on your wedding day and feel like the most special bride in the world.
