Pantone is the way forward for bridesmaids dresses at your wedding!
Hi ladies how are we all this week? So I was thinking about this weeks blog focussing on colour! And where there is colour there has got to be Pantone charts. We stock Dessy Bridesmaids Dresses and they use this colour chart! If you want to perfectly colour match your wedding then it’s a must.. Have you heard of Pantone ? It’s a great way to coordinate everything instantly.
For those who are unsure of what I am talking about then keep reading, I m going to give you an insight into making planning your wedding easier. And in such a stressful time I’m sure that’s what is needed. So have you decided on your colour scheme yet? With so many to choose from it is hard.
The 2014 Pantone colour of the year is. Radiant Orchid it’s a mixture of purple, fuchsia and pink undertones it fascinates the eye immediately. It your one to go with what’s the in trend then that’s your colour. However if you are after something different then explore them all. Here are a few Bridemaids Dresses by Dessy NY in this gorgeous colour!
With Pantone colours you can order chiplette swatches of your favourite colours to create a mix and match of wedding colours that work well together. Many companies now this colour chart so it makes life easier.
Once you have gathered swatches or chiplettes of your favourite colour choices. Try to link together colours that go well with one another. From here you must then decide on your primary colour and what type of shade of that you will use. For example if your going for a grey colour scheme are you leaning more towards the paler dove Grey or a darker charcoal. What will you link to this colour if any? And what parts of the wedding will you use this for. There is so much more to think about than just what scheme you want. I would suggest making mood boards to help link things together. I’ve put together an example here for you to see.
This can be done with magazine cut outs, creating a picture collage on your phone apps from things you have liked on Pinterest or you could use the Dessy website to create your own. Whatever way you decide it doesn’t matter.
Wedding themes that go well with certain colours are as follows,
Vintage wedding – mint, seafoam green, and salmon pink would give a back garden setting. -Begonia, wood violet and rose water would create a very soft delicate feel. -Ivory, cameo and topaz would be great for a chabby chic theme.
Modern wedding – black and white would give a cool chic modern feel. -Adding fuchsia pink to the simple Black and White would give u a burst of colour to make it more of a fun look. -For the more outgoing you could be bold and have a mixture of turquoise and mustard. With the right mix you can make a great impression
Classic wedding – Dusky Rose and beige can give a warm gentle feel. -Red and white would give a extremely romantic feel. -Scarlet, navy and eggshell give a very regal look. It’s not just the themes that you can decide on your colour by, you can also have your decision made by the seasons.
Winter weddings would tend to be more darker shades maybe deep reds, greens or navy’s.
Autumn colours would be burnt oranges, coppers and deep yellows
Spring tends to be pastel colours and finally summer gives people the opportunity to add blasts of bright bold colours. This is just a guide and obviously whatever your final decision is I’m sure it will be fabulous.
Once you have found your colours you must then decide on where and when they will be used. What I will say is be sure to think about your venue and the colours they already hold. Be sure your choices won’t clash with them. Where you are having the actual ceremony may be harder to decorate so may be best to just stick to adding your shades through the clothing and flowers.
