Let me introduce you all to our dazzling bride of the month for June Alicia.
The newly married Mr & Mrs Kent Have allowed us to share special moments and information from their day. A true love story with a perfect ending.
Their journey began one night in a local Swindon bar, Alicia had an instant attraction to Chris, he danced her off her feet and they chatted all night. Their true love began right there.
The proposal was so romantic. A regular Christmas shopping trip to London turned out to be a surprise Alicia will never forget. She was whisked off to a swanky Mayfair hotel and a trip to the beautiful Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. They had fun ice skating together and warmed themselves up with a nice glass of mulled wine, followed by a trip on the London Eye. This is where the magic happened. At the very top, Chris asked Alicia to marry him and without hesitation she happily said yes!!!!!
We met the lovely Alicia at the NEC National Wedding Show where she spotted the breathtakingly beautiful ……… Gown. Believe it or not this is the one and only dress Alicia tried on. It was all she had ever dreamed off since she was a little girl so we were so happy to have been able to make her dream come true. We also supplied the headpiece Alicia wore, as you can see it complimented her veil and dress perfectly. And the look was finished off with a pair of vintage style drop earrings.
Alicia knew the hairstyle she wanted to show off her stunning gown, and this was accomplished with the help off hairstylist Jade Carroll based in Swindon. With perfect classic bridal make up by London based freelance make-up artist Nikki Bryson, Alicia was made the most perfect bride.
Now all you ladies who are obsessed with shoes, are you completely in awe of Alicia’s Jimmy Choos as I am? The stunning Ailsa Glitter heels were a fantastic choice.
And as it turns out Chris has just as good choice as Alicia, they certainly are a perfect match. The grooms party were dressed in Three piece Ted Baker morning suits.
The bridesmaids looked equally as beautiful as Alicia wearing mint green Grecian style gowns. These were hand made by a friend of Alicia’s sister. We have a similar style in our Dessy range if anyone reading this has fallen in love with these.
Alicia grew up in a small village in Wiltshire called Aldbourne. With the local church being a short walk away from her childhood home this seemed the ideal place for her to marry. As a child she would walk past the church dreaming of the day she would marry her prince. Such a gorgeous setting for their dream wedding. Their marriage was made even more perfect with the floral touches. I just love this look at the doorway. It’s such a romantic photo. The church flowers were a personal touch from florist Penny as she is Alicia’s aunt. Keeping with the family connections, the brides mother’s close friend helped in the floral arrangements for the reception.
This was not the only part of the couples wedding that was provided by family. Alicia’s very talented Mum and cousin Leigh made the wedding cake along with 120 cupcakes to provide as favours. It shows such a closeness of families and trust to be so involved in the special day. Truly perfect!!
The wedding moved on from the church to Donningtin Grove, an 18th century country estate hotel. A perfect wedding breakfast of Duck pancakes, Rack of lamb with seasonal vegetables and chocolate fondant was served to the guests.
Surrounded by picturesque grounds they had a marque attached to the old building for the evening reception, guests were greeted with entertainment from a magician called Guy Portlock. What a great touch.
As tradition at weddings their was a first dance, the newlyweds expressed their love in front of all their guests by sharing a dance to Al Greens Lets stay together. I’m sure more than a few tears were shed to this.
The wedding party were then treated to a couple of sets by a band called ‘Party Up‘, followed by a DJ who kept everyone on the dance floor.
A weeding to be enjoyed by all was what Mr & Mrs Kent wanted so they decided to give guests some fun memories by setting up a photo booth. A really nice touch if you ask me.
All of this was caught on camera and film for the happy couple to relive over and over again. Highly recommended photographer Nick Spratling ‘The Official Photographer’ based in Bath exceeded their expectations with the added comfort of a great relationship being formed with him. They are still awaiting the video as it’s in editing phase but are so excited to see the finished piece.
Such a beautiful couple with a beautiful day, we are so honoured for you to have shared this with us. Alicia did have a slight panic that a disaster would occur when a gush of wind appeared on their departure from the church, as any bride/lady would, she panicked about her hair. Luckily her 7 bridesmaids were on hand to help out if need be. The couple finished their amazing wedding with a honeymoon 2 days later. They had 3 days in New York followed by 9 days sunning it up in the breathtakingly beautiful Cancun, Mexico.
We asked Alicia how married life is treating her and she replied with:
“It’s great to finally be Mrs Kent and I couldn’t be happier. It’s sad that I can no longer talk about wedding planning, but the conversation has now moved onto having babies, which is amazing”
We at Lisa’s Bridalwear are so pleased for you and hope you hear the sound of tiny pitter patter feet soon enough.
