Hello my lovelies, I hope everyone is good and had a lovely week. I’ve had such a great weekend. I attended a wedding on Saturday and it was such a beautiful ceremony! Having the sun out was a added bonus. What has everyone been doing to make the most of our lovely sunshine ???
I thought I would discuss flowers with you this week. Did you know that each flower has a different meaning. For example yellow tulips mean hopelessly in love, what a lovely way to express to your wedding party how you feel about one another. While ivy represents fidelity, everything you require in a marriage. So when choosing the flowers for your upcoming nuptials why not check the meanings behind the flowers, this way you can have more to your decision than just the look and smell of your arrangements.
There is so much choice when it comes to flowers, If you’re looking to keep to a budget carnations have made a huge comeback. They come in a selection of colours and are one of the cheapest to use. Having bright shades can give you the look of a fun wedding. You could then have candle centrepieces circling a tall vase holding a bunch of carnations in the middle of them to match the bouquets.
Or are you more of a traditional bride opting for the elegant bunch or roses grouped together with lily of the valley to give a look of pure sophistication. Having fresh roses on your pews in the church signifying your love is a gorgeous look.
I must admit I am absolutely in love with The new look for brides, and that is The broché bouquet! They are classy, creative and give a perfect look for a vintage wedding. Here’s a sneak peek of some what do you think ? ………. I no, I totally agree they’re amazing!
What’s more you can keep these forever, a great keepsake of your big day. They would look great on your dressing table next to a photo of the happy couple.
I have a few pictures below forwarded to me from a local florist based in Solihull town centre. They are called Fleur De Lis and offer a great service for weddings.
As you can see from the photos their work is fantastic. Here we have a bunch of peonys in the first picture, a very popular summer flower. Then we have a mix of freeia’ss, lisianthus and veronicas. Colours can be altered to match your scheme. Then there’s a hand tie of avalanche rose’s in a soft pink the rose is also available in white/cream and peach. And finally our classic rose bouquet.
I have put together a mood board to give ideas to all you brides on what I think looks good together.
The wedding gown shown is one we have instore to order. It’s a stunning tulle gown by Enzoani. The bridesmaid dresses shown are both Dessy gowns we have on offer at the moment for a amazing £25 each! Candles on your tables give a warm intimate feel to the wedding breakfast.
