When you purchase your wedding dress from us here at Lisa Rose Bridal in Birmingham, you get access to our exclusive Facebook group. This group is a safe space where our brides can share, encourage and support each other, as well as find inspiration from one another along the wedding planning journey.
It was within this group that we recently saw a post asking for ideas for an alcohol free hen do. There is a whole multitude of reasons that a bride might plump for a sober hen do over an alcohol fuelled one, so we thought we’d do a bit of research and put a blog post together featuring our top 10 favourite alcohol free hen do ideas!
1. Spa Day
Possibly the most obvious choice but that doesn’t mean it’s any less viable! A spa day is the perfect chance for you and your favourite ladies to get together, have a giggle around the pool and mingle with different girls as one or two take turns heading out for a treatment or a stint in the sauna. The flexibility involved in a spa day is perfect for catering to everyones wants/needs. Treatments are optional as are types of treatments. However, if the hen do is close to the big day, it could be a fabulous time to get yourself preened and pampered in preparation!
2. Perfume Making Workshop
What could be a better way to spend a fun day with your girls than creating your very own, personalised scent. You will find out how perfume is made, the different fragrance families and create your very own scent using a variety of materials before taking a a bottle away with you!
3. Chocolate Making Workshop
Find me a girl who doesn’t like chocolate and i’ll find you a girl who is adept at telling porky pies!! These chocolate making workshops will have you melting at the knees … the smell … the taste my oh my. Might have to try and force a non married friend into getting spliced just so I can plan her a chocolate making hen do 😉
3. Afternoon Tea
A real crowd pleaser! Tea, cake, and a glass of fizz for anyone who does want to toast the occasion with something less soft. Whether you want a high class affair or a more quirky take on the traditional afternoon tea, Birmingham has a fabulous range of venues on offer so we’re certain you’ll find something to fit the bill.
4. Theme Park
Looking for something a little more adrenaline filled? How about a trip out to a theme park. A day filled with fun, laughter and squeals of delight with all your best girls at their silliest is a fantastic way to let your hair down and celebrate your last few weeks as a single lady.
5. Dance Class
Release your inner Beyonce! You and your girls can choose a track to have a dance choreographed to and hone your moves with a professional before recreating it on the wedding day dance floor for your new hubby to be wowed at!!
If dancing is not your thing, how about singing?!! Karaoke is incredibly good fun, whether you’re Aretha Franklin reincarnated, or more akin to Katie Price auditioning for Eurovision… something you can be sure of is that a great craic will be had by all.
7. Crafting Workshop
A calmer option for those not wanting to be too worn out by the end of the hen do! Why not take part in a craft workshop where you can create something to take away at the end of the day… bunting, an item of clothing or something for the home. A lovely way to spend some quality time with your favourite ladies.
8. Mocktail Masterclass
Just because we’re going sober, doesn’t mean we can’t mix ups few drinks – just stick to the virgin kind! With mocktail making workshops held all over Birmingham you can get all the glamour of a boozy night out, just without the sore head the next day!
Relive your childhood and gather your girls for an evening of inflatable fun at somewhere like Inflata World (pictured) here in Birmingham. With ‘It’s a knockout’ style games or assault courses to complete, you will have incredible fun racing (or rolling) around with your besties.
10. Glamping Slumber Party
Last, but by no means least, in at number 10 is our suggestion of a glamping slumber party. We all love a good sleepover do we not, pj’s, hot chocolate, snacks and a night full to bursting with girlie gossip, what’s not to love. With teepees, yurts, glamping pods and treehouses available all over the UK, a fantastic night filled with girlie fun and games is bound to be a winner.
